Man shows how girlfriend ‘packs away the food shop’ and other people are furious

A man has been advised to “throw his whole girlfriend away” after he shared a picture on the Reddit page ‘Mildly Infuriating’ to show how his partner puts away food when she gets home from the shop

It doesn’t matter how head-over-heels in love you are with your other half, nothing quite prepares you for moving in with one another.

Small habits such as leaving tea bags in the sink and putting an empty milk carton back in the fridge is enough to shatter everything you thought you knew about them.

One man who is facing that reality has been left baffled by his girlfriend’s method of ‘putting away’ their food shop – and it’s sparked outrage online.

In a post on the Reddit page ‘ Mildly Infuriating ‘, he shows the shopping sitting on a shelf in a cupboard exactly how it came out of the shop – still in the plastic bags.

The shopping has been thrown onto a shelf above some neatly organised boxes below, with a packet of Doritos and an opened bag of Peanut M&Ms visible but still packed away.

The photo has racked up more than 2,500 comments as people advised him: “There’s no other way, you have to throw the whole girlfriend away,” and another added: “Absolutely. This is a deal breaker.”

Some were seeing red too much to offer any form of support, commenting: “How can a single picture make me so angry?”

A second said: “Laziness has reached a whole new level.”

Another wrote: “How do you break up with someone else’s girlfriend?”

The man said he needed to visit a therapist “specialising in PTSD” to get over the trauma and others shared their own similar experiences that were enough to push them over the edge.

One vented: “My wife throws trash in the sink. The can is literally under the sink.”

Another raged: “I had a roommate who does this when putting stuff in the fridge, and then preceding to forget what they bought and never cared to check what’s in the opaque plastic bags, so they double purchase the next time, and let the old stuff rot.”

But others found the idea strangely attractive, saying: “It never would have occurred to me to do this, and now I’m scared that I’ve seen it because I can see myself doing this now that I’ve been corrupted with this knowledge.”
